The Team Green Supermini Cup has enjoyed a high-profile in its first year with Arenacross, with a host of lucky 13 and 14-year-old racers living the ‘factory racer’ life.

Launched at the UK’s Motorcycle Live, NEC, last November the joint Kawasaki and Arenacross initiative, has seen 12 super-fast big-wheel riders putting standard-trim KX85s through their paces on the uber-tight, twisting and challenging Arenacross tracks. They have impressed sell-out crowds at Belfast and Birmingham and took to the crushed limestone circuit with gusto at The FlyDSA Arena, Sheffield, this morning when they completed their first race of round five.

As the Tour heads into the evening session of the fifth round, the top five Team Green Supermini Cup competitors could all be in the frame to take the coveted trophy and machine prize. Just 41 points separate Raife Broadley in first, down to Charlie Palmer in fifth. Alfie Jones, Ethan Sills and Tom Harris are right there in the mix, and have all been in the top half at every round of the series so far.

It’s a safe bet that they’ll keep piling on the pressure right until the final chequered flag falls and, with 45 points on the table across the remaining three races of the penultimate and final rounds of the 2019 Arenacross Tour, there’s all to play for.

Championship positions (after race 1 of round 5);
