Shocktech Kawasaki’s Fabien Izoird, the 2014 AX Pro Champ, sadly left the Arenacross Tour, following injury sustained at the fourth round of the 2019 series at Birmingham.
We’ve today heard from the manager of the popular and amiable French rider, advising that surgery went well, repatriation to France went smoothly, and the MCF insurance kicked in and worked as it should, to speed up the whole process.
“On behalf of Fabien, I want to thank you for your help following his crash. He wants to tell you that the surgery went very well (he was a bit nervous). The X-rays demonstrate a very successful surgery, even the scars are clean and minimal. Then the repatriation went very smoothly and in the best conditions.
“The assistance centre of the insurance even hooked up him with a French-speaking person which was very helpful and did a good job by dispatching a very competent nurse who took good care of him during the trip back to Montpellier. Fabien would like to tell you that the insurance relating to his license worked well and was supportive. He will not fail to reassure his compatriots who will consider racing in the series in the future.
“Special thanks also go to Dave Thorpe who visited him at the hospital after surgery and was concerned to help in any way.
“Thanks to you all and please keep up the good work.”
We wish Fabien well and hope to see him back out on two wheels as soon as he’s fit!
Fellow Frenchman Florent Richier will step in for Fabien at this weekend’s double-header finale at Sheffield – he’ll be flying the flag for his friend and team.
