The morning session of the fifth round of the 2016 Monster Energy Arenacross Tour saw both Youth 65cc, Superminis together and the Pro Lite classes, won by the current series leaders.
The Pro Lites race proved to be particularly exciting with MVR-D Fuel’s Joe Clayton coming under race-long pressure from George Clarke (Sealmoto Brookmeade, LRS). Clayton led from start to finish, but Clarke was all over the back of him as they battled their way around the challenging Belfast circuit. Contending with back-markers at two-thirds race-distance they, together with third-placed Edward Briscoe (Manchester Xtreme), went on to put in an impressive ten laps.

Tempers run high at incident-fuelled Arenacross
The fourth round of the Monster Energy Arenacross Tour at Belfast SSE Arena last night threw up a spate of Pro class incidents, with Cedric Soubeyras wiping out Adam Chatfield in the Head-to-Head semi-final and getting the red card.
The exchange between the two riders saw Soubeyras colliding with Chatfield in the first corner of the first lap, sending the Buildbase Honda rider to the ground and damaging his bike in the process.

The 2016 Monster Energy Arenacross Tour proved to be something of a belter when it visited Belfast for the fourth leg of the 2016 series. Reigning AX Pro champ SR75 Molson Racing Suzuki’s Thomas Ramette convincingly won both his heats and the Main Event, whilst Geartec Yamaha’s Cedric Soubeyras retained the championship lead.
Prior to the evening programme of track action, visitors flooded the SSE Arena’s concourse to buy merchandise and check out the latest TomTom sports action cameras, and were welcomed with the sight of the longest autograph signing table in the history of Arenacross. No less than 14 top-level Pro racing contenders and high-flying Freestyle athletes were lined up, all ready and willing to sign bespoke AX posters and spend time chatting with the fans.
